A FUTURE FOR ST PAUL'S CHURCH

The event on 22 June is a concert with Nubya and the choir ‘Les Voix’ to thank foundations, donors, patrons and members for their support to date. They have helped to ensure that St Paul's Church remains open to the public - as a cultural and event venue, choir centre, garden café and meeting place for the neighbourhood.

This evening is also a charity event. Because St Paul's Church needs further support. The church is atmospheric, popular and a national monument. But there are considerable operational shortcomings. For example, in terms of sound, lighting, foyer and disabled access. The association has to pay for these improvements, as the Evangelical Reformed Church of Basel-Stadt does not have the necessary funds. That is why we are collecting money for very specific things at the charity event.

The planning has been finalised and the craftsmen are ready. The upgrading measures in St Paul's Church are to be implemented between 3 July and 15 September. CHF 700,000 of the total costs of CHF 875,000 have been pledged (or there are positive signals). CHF 100,000 is still to be financed by larger contributions, the remaining CHF 75,000 thanks to smaller donations. It would be great if a good portion of this could be raised on 22 June and in the following days.

  • Spotlight for stage and cupola lighting: CHF 350

  • Chandelier lamps for better stage lighting for artists: CHF 50 (single lamps) or CHF 500 (laser blades)

  • Spotlight to illuminate the rose window: CHF 800

  • Speakers (FOHNN LX-60) in custom colour: 750 CHF

  • Microphone to complete the sound system: CHF 250

  • Principal loudspeaker customised for St Paul's Church: CHF 8,500

  • Projector with fast ultra-telezoom lens: CHF 3,500

  • Canvas, customised and fold-out: CHF 1,750

  • Tablet for controlling sound and light: CHF 1,000
